70 miles north of Austin and is known for the Fort Hood military base. Its economy depends on the activities of the post, and the soldiers and their families stationed there. It is known as a military “boom town” because of its rapid growth and high influx of soldiers

The median price for a home in Killeen has gone up significantly in the last year, but still…the median sales price was $250,000 and the Median price of rent was $1000.

Jarrell, TX

This small but growing town is just north of Georgetown, TX. The current population is just over 2,000. According to Best Places, the median income is just over $52,000 and the median home price is about $278,000, while the median rent is $1,800.
