Right now Austin, TX is one of the hottest real estate markets in the world. It’s a great place to invest if you want to see appreciations.

Prices are increasing quite a bit right now. There are plenty of great opportunities to get in on the action before it gets out of control, so I wanted to share some of my favorite places to invest in the Austin area.

East Austin

Some of my personal favorite areas in ATX are in East Austin. It’s hot right now, but there are still some great properties available. Prices are currently going up, so now’s the time to be looking at potential properties if you want to see returns in a great up and coming area.

If you get creative, there’s tons of different ways to generate cashflow on your properties here. If you’re able to land a great deal and then renovate in East Austin, then that’s a property you would want to hold on to forever.

Near the Domain

The Domain area is in North Austin and has been seeing a lot of positive changes recently. The recent FC Soccer Stadium being completed, along with all the attractions of the domain and other tech companies has made properties in the area a hot commodity.

Restaurants, retail shops, apartments, you name it. There’s plenty of things to do here and plenty more popping up all the time. It’s another up and coming area, so plan to have a lot of rental demand.

Suburbs

Last but not least, if you want to invest near Austin, don’t forget about the suburbs. Round Rock, Leander, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Hutto, even Jarrel. These are suburbs that are currently increasing substantially in value just outside of Austin, and should not be overlooked.

You have to consider that a lot of people don’t necessarily want to live in Austin – all the traffic and high speed pace of the city can sometimes be too much. Suburbs are a great alternative and a great investment due to the fact that they’re typically only 20 minutes away from Austin proper, they’re affordable, and they’re a great place for people to have a house and raise a family.
